Workout for Success
Successful People Have Fitness Rituals
“Even ten minutes of activity changes your brain”
Almost all successful people have one thing in common; they workout regularly. In an interview, John Ratey MD, psychiatrist at Harvard Medical School said “Exercise is the single best thing you can do for your brain in terms of mood, memory, and learning… Even ten minutes of activity changes your brain.”
Tony Robbins is undoubtedly very successful and he teaches others how they can be successful too. He often mentions his morning ritual in interviews and his talks. In addition to his cardio fitness routine, he does a yoga breathing technique called Kapalabhati Pranayama.
Oprah Winfrey is one of the world’s wealthiest woman. She jumps on the treadmill each morning in addition to her meditation.
Bill Gates is known for his success and also spends an hour on the treadmill each morning.
Howard Schultz, CEO of Starbucks, says he walks his dogs and works out every morning at 4:30 am.
Exercise improves not only physical function of the body but also the mind. Improved energy and clarity of mind can lead to great success. Cardio exercise improves cognitive function of the brain. In a study published in Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease (Ding 2017), researchers concluded that higher levels of Cardio-Respiratory Fitness improves white-matter neuronal fiber integrity in “normal” and mildly cognitive impaired patients.
An article published in Reviews in the Neurosciences (Ratey, 2011), they concluded: “Extensive evidence suggests that physical activity beneficially influences brain function and executive cognitive processes…” With improved brain cognitive function and emotional clarity, imagine what you can do.
Design Your Ritual
Write this down because “Goals that are not written down are just dreams.” – Fitzhugh Dobson.
Plan your morning ritual. Wake up early enough to get your fitness routine done each day.
- Make your bed when you get up because many successful people do so
- Plan your day
- look in the mirror and do affirmations
- drink your pre-workout smoothie
- workout at least 15 – 40 minutes
- then begin your work right after healthy breakfast.
Now go take on your day and take on the world.
